Mages are powerful spellcasters who have mastered the ability to manipulate magical energy to suit their needs. Mages often congregate near nexus rifts and along ley lines, where magical energy is the strongest. Not only do they channel this energy to cast spells, but they can 'read' it and notice major changes or fluctuations in the area.
These casters are formidable and unpredictable opponents in battle. While most are physically weaker, as their skill lies in the mind rather than the body, do not underestimate their power. Some mages are capable of raining destruction down upon their foes, while others can use their magical energy to augment weapons and other technology in a potent combination.

Detect Magic: Mages have the innate ability to sense Nexus wave energies. Mages can automatically tell the Wavelength of a spell cast within a MED range of themselves. This ability gives a vague sense of what the spell is. This ability works through 10ft of solid substance and reveals spells, objects or creatures hidden by invisibility. Cannot detect Void. Mages may make an investigation (INT+WIL) check to learn more information about a spell that is within their detect magic aura, and their line of sight.
