Players may RP quests on the forum when groups can't be online at the same time or they simply prefer the pace of forum posting. These threads are self-directed, meaning that a GM will provide you with a prompt and objectives, and how you reach those objectives are up to you.

CHARACTER LIMITS

Quest threads will allow between 1 and 4 people; this will be indicated in the prompt post made by the GM.

OBJECTIVES

Every listed objective will have an XP value. For example:

Identify target - 25 XP

This indicates the maximum XP value that will be awarded, per character, for completing that objective. However, earning this XP is dependent upon the effort put into it. If there is no effort or imagination put into the objective, then the characters will only be awarded the minimum value (5 XP). For example:

Joe goes to the place and looks through the crowd and then points at a guy that they need to kill and says "That's him"

That is minimum effort and would only get 5 XP.

However, Joe using his hacker skills to acquire a mugshot from the police database, which he then gives to Sam and Frank who move through the crowd to identify the target, would earn the full 25 XP.

Once all objectives are complete, the involved players should contact a GM to review the thread and award XP and cash.

FREEFORM AND DICE OPTIONS

Players may run the threads completely freeform if they so choose, meaning no dice rolls are required. However, if they decide to use dice, there is an XP bonus.

There should be a minimum of one dice roll per character AND one dice roll per objective in order to earn the bonus.

For example, if there are 4 characters and 5 objectives, each character needs to make one dice roll minimum, and one of the characters will make 2 dice rolls, for a total of 5.

If there are 5 characters and 4 objectives, then one objective will have 2 dice rolls made for it to ensure that all 5 characters make at least one roll.

This is only the minimum number of rolls. If a roll is failed and thus more rolls need to be made to overcome that failure, that is fine.

The dice bonus is +25 XP per objective.

USING THE DICE ROLLER

The dice roller plugin allows you to make rolls within your posts. The format is: [roll=XdY+Z] where X is the number of dice, Y is the number of sides on the dice, and Z is the modifier (positive or negative). The brackets are required.

When you preview a post, your roll will not appear. Rolls only appear when the post is submitted.

POST FORMAT REQUIREMENTS

To make it easier for staff to evaluate the thread for XP, please indicate the following:

- in which specific post you are completing an objective
- what you are rolling for when you make a roll
- what Difficulty you are rolling against when performing any rolls

To make it easier for staff to evaluate the thread for XP, please indicate the following:
- what you are rolling for when you make a roll
